Who is Matt Maverick? - My name is Matthew Dixon, I'm a digital designer and aspiring comic artist from West London and Matt Maverick is my comic book counterpart. I've been working online now for 3 years but my creative spark has been "sparking" since the discovery of the potato print.

Not your life story - After my A-Levels (which didn't include vegetable based printing), I joined a small company called Concrete Jungle where I learned the mystical art of Bonsai. Sadly that wonderful, yet rather niche company lost its leaves and closed down, (I blame the fried-chicken place that opened next door). So I packed up my trusty bonsai tree and set out in search of my fortune.

In the years that followed I explored many other dead-ends. The most notable of these was video game testing for SEGA, (where I discovered that I'm not the gamer I thought I was) and beer tasting for Carlsberg, (it was really just market research. I tried to pursue a career but they made me leave)...

...New potatoes - I eventually escaped life's gravitational pull and found myself a role within a rapidly growing company called WorldStores. I worked my way up from Customer Service Agent to Content Editor (well, to the side for the most part, then up...eventually). This was where found a new artistic medium in code form, it wasn't comic books but at least I was finally creating something.

The world is not enough - Although I enjoyed building the occasional HTML page, designing a few banners here and there, writing copy for garden parasols and office chairs, I wanted to try my hand at designing a website. So I offered my services to a local children's sports club called Rugger Kids and built my first site, complete with images, copy and code.

See what you can do - With my newly developed skills I sought a loftier calling. The next stop was O2, where I now develop online content for one of the biggest telecoms companies in the world. To keep myself on track and build on my skills, I decided to create a website of my own to showcase what I can do...and here we are.
